Shaving cream fight

Cory had to go out of town for 6 days back East for training for work. And I decided I would try to have a really good attitude and have fun with the kids. One thing we did while he was gone was I let the kids have a shaving cream war in the backyard. It was a lot of fun!

Brandon Mull Day

We went to the Chalk Art festival at the Gateway in Salt Lake. The main reason we went was to meet the author Brandon Mull. We have loved reading his books and fell in love with the Fablehaven series. We had three hard copies of his books so each of the kids had a book in their hand and he signed them to each of them. It was really awesome. The week leading up to us going the boys were referring to the day as "Brandon Mull Day". Like Spencer would say, "How many more days until it's Brandon Mull Day?" I'm so happy that they look up to an author!

Mother Daughter Luau

Mataya and I got to go to an enrichment night for Relief Society where they had a mother and daughter luau. Mataya was so excited all day to go with me. We kept talking about the "girl party" we were going to. She was eager to let me do her hair and put on a very cute outfit. We walked in to the party and I got teary eyed because I was so overwhelmed and happy that I have a daughter to go to this party with! It was such a fun night with dancing, games, and yummy food:-)

Sweet Mataya

This little girl is such a cutie! She reminds me a lot of Parker at this age. She is very strong willed and independent, but also very sweet and kind. She had been really good buddies with Spencer lately. She is always asking to play with him and he is so patient and nice with her. Spencer has always been the kid that is content to just play by himself in his room, but Mataya is coming around and is actually fun to play with. She has a cute little imagination and lately he hates to have her hair done so she ends up looking like a little rag doll most days. She loves her brothers and will go in their room at night and say, "Who wants hugs and kisses?" Oh how we love her!

Spencer's Kindergarten Program

Spencer had his Kindergarten program at the end of the school. Cory wasn't able to come so I took pictures and recorded it. Spencer is so dear to my heart and watching him in this program just made me so happy. He was being quite a little character and had me laughing for days over some of the stuff he did during some of the songs. He had such a great year and an awesome teacher. Way to go Spencer!

Birthday girls.

Me and Mataya did a joint birthday celebration while Cory's parents were here. Mataya was trying to steal my birthday thunder...just kidding! It's fun to have our birthdays so close together.

Antelope Island Camping.

We went camping at the beginning of May to Antelope Island. It was perfect weather and so nice. We love living so close where we can drive 15 minutes and camp and feel like we are far away from home. Mataya just went right to work gathering rocks and playing in the dirt. Parker had just earned a pocket knife and was so excited to take it camping and he was finding good sticks to use his knife on. This is my one and only camping trip this year because I'm way too pregnant now. But in May I was still smallish and not too uncomfortable. We saw lots of buffalo, birds, and even a few snakes! It was a great camp out!

Earth Day!

We celebrated Earth Day at Ogden Nature Center. My kids honestly love this place even though there really isn't much too it. It's a lot of outdoor space, injured and rescued birds, and fun places to run around. We got to see a bird show, a man sheer a sheep, and the best was at the end with the face painting. The boys got snakes on their arms and Mataya got a rainbow on her face. It was such a fun day.
