birthday bash in SLC.

We spent the day celebrating Spencer's birthday. We went to Salt Lake and went to the new Utah Natural History Museum. Here is Spencer reading the map at the museum and figuring out where we should start. He was so excited when we got there.
On the top floor there was lots of cool stuff about weather. They had stuff outdoor on the roof and it was mighty windy, but the view was great.

ANTS!!

Spencer knew lots of the names of the dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures like stuff most people have never even heard of. He was so happy to see them in real life. This is a Dire Wolf. He was so cute leading the charge at this part of the museum.

I love Spencer's face pressed up against the glass with his little pig nose.

Holding hands.
We went to Liberty Park to kill some time before we went to dinner. It always cracks me up when Cory says, "Let's go to Pioneer Park!" And I give him a terrified look....he gets the two names mixed up.

As we were leaving there was some guys with a big dog. The owner said she was really friendly and her name was Zoe. She was eye to eye with Mataya and licked her right on the face. Mataya just giggled and said, "He licked me."
We went to Spaghetti Factory for dinner. The kids each had a free kids meals from the reading program from school (and even one for little sister). And we had a HUGE (well huge to me) thing happen at the restaurant. Mataya had not used the bathroom since we left the house at around 12. And it was now after 5, she has been terrified to use public restrooms, she would never even sit on the toilet every place we would go. She was so frightened by the noises and everything. I told Cory that maybe he should take all the kids to use the bathroom. Well, she just marched right in and sat down and went! We have literally tried at a dozen places over the last two months. She came back just smiling and proud. And from that point on she has used the bathroom whenever we are away from home. Ahh, thanks DAD!
The birthday kid with his gourmet mac 'n cheese.
Me and my cute boys! And a soon-to-be baby brother or sister to join our family in September!
This was such a fun day from beginning to end. I'm so blessed to have my beautiful family!

Spencer's 6th Birthday.

Our cute Spencer turned 6 years old. He requested chocolate chip waffles for breakfast, McDonald's for lunch, and hot dogs and corn for dinner. Boy, this kid is not too hard to please!
Opening presents and I made him wear the birthday hat.
His favorite present was this Nerf sword that is two swords that hook together. It's huge and way taller than him, he is such a little ninja:-)
He wanted to decorate his own cake. It's pretty lame, but he was excited to frost it and put on the sprinkles. We didn't do friend parties this year, I just didn't have it in me so we had a fun family day of stuff instead. (which I will post about later)

Singing "Happy Birthday"....Cory was at the caucus meeting so it was just me and the kids for cake. He could have stayed home, but since he is in the bishopric and the first presidency really encouraged people to be at those meetings especially members of the bishopric and ward council. So he went and really Spencer didn't mind. He ate cake, watched movies and played with his toys. Cory came home three and a half hours later. He said it was pretty intense and he is a county delegate. He's a good man being involved in such things!

school carnival.

We went to our school's PTA carnival. The kids loved it they got to play, get prizes and eat popcorn.

party time.

Our favorite Ty-Guy aka Tyson turned 1. We love this little guy. We love having boy cousins:-)
We had a little party for the birthday kids at Melissa's house and played games and had fun. Parker won this punch balloon ball thing, it was a big hit. And he is wearing his Opsgear hat that Cory got him for his birthday. He wears it everyday!
Playing bingo.
Making door hangers with dinosaur foam stickers and puffy paint. It was so fun to have Heather and the kids there and my mom and dad were up for the weekend. Oh and we ate yummy food, always a bonus in my book!

Parker turns 8!

Since Parker's birthday was on a Sunday (the 12th of Feb.) we celebrated the day before by going to the movie Journey 2 and eating dinner at TGI Friday's. Parker planned the menu for his birthday which was pancakes for breakfast, and German pancakes and bacon for dinner. We do love our breakfast foods around here!
One thing he has been excited about is being in Cub Scouts. He loves to go to scouts every week and is working hard on all his requirements. As you keep reading keep in mind my children are dressed most of the time just not in most of these pictures;)
Enjoying Parker's birthday dessert.
Spencer was shocked when we told him that it was Parker's 8th birthday that very day!
He finally got his globe. He was so excited!
I got this basketball/dartboard at Sports Authority for $5.....SCORE!

We love you buddy boy. We are looking forward to your baptism in a couple of weeks:-)
