party time.

Our favorite Ty-Guy aka Tyson turned 1. We love this little guy. We love having boy cousins:-)
We had a little party for the birthday kids at Melissa's house and played games and had fun. Parker won this punch balloon ball thing, it was a big hit. And he is wearing his Opsgear hat that Cory got him for his birthday. He wears it everyday!
Playing bingo.
Making door hangers with dinosaur foam stickers and puffy paint. It was so fun to have Heather and the kids there and my mom and dad were up for the weekend. Oh and we ate yummy food, always a bonus in my book!

Parker turns 8!

Since Parker's birthday was on a Sunday (the 12th of Feb.) we celebrated the day before by going to the movie Journey 2 and eating dinner at TGI Friday's. Parker planned the menu for his birthday which was pancakes for breakfast, and German pancakes and bacon for dinner. We do love our breakfast foods around here!
One thing he has been excited about is being in Cub Scouts. He loves to go to scouts every week and is working hard on all his requirements. As you keep reading keep in mind my children are dressed most of the time just not in most of these pictures;)
Enjoying Parker's birthday dessert.
Spencer was shocked when we told him that it was Parker's 8th birthday that very day!
He finally got his globe. He was so excited!
I got this basketball/dartboard at Sports Authority for $5.....SCORE!

We love you buddy boy. We are looking forward to your baptism in a couple of weeks:-)

Spencer-isms

I wanted to share some things Spencer has said in the last week.

"Okay, Mom, I'm ready to grow a mustache!"

"Grandpa Blackwell must be 80 years old because he is SO tall."

After hearing a group of men in the mall speaking Spanish he said, "Spanish people give me the freaks!"

little baller.

Parker has been playing basketball again this year. It has been a lot of fun to watch him play. He has improved SOO much since last year and he is so aggressive and always getting lots of rebounds.
Cory took this right when Parker shot the ball and it was nothing but net! This was one of his best games. He was scoring like crazy. We were with Uncle Justin the next day and Parker was telling him about how many baskets he made and Justin gave him the nickname "Jimmer Jones".

GO PARKER!!!

painting.

Lately, Mataya really loves to paint. And anytime the boys are at the table doing homework she has to join in and color or draw. What impresses me so much about her is how dainty she is when she paints. My boys, at this age, would destroy a whole bunch of paint by mixing them all together real fast. She would dip the brush in water in between each color. She is such a little sweetheart, I really enjoy being her mom:-)

Chick-Fil-A

Me, Spencer, and Mataya went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch today. Spencer had a free kids meal there from the reading program at school. Well, that is one busy place...probably because it's dang good. So I watched this one mom get furious because a little boy in the play area kicked and hit her son. After it happened a couple of times the woman lost it and stormed over to the child's mom and proceeded to lecture and yell at her. The woman really didn't have a clue her son was being a turd she was too busy chatting with her girlfriends. So it was good this chick brought it to her attention. It was uncomfortable to listen to them yell at each other in the play area. Spencer had a front row seat and was listening to them yell. He came out and I said, "What was that all about?" He said, "Those ladies are enemies!" Haha! That cracked me up.

A little while later Spencer came out and told me a different little boy had slapped him in the face and his lip was red and a little swollen. Once I found out he was Spencer's same age I said, "Well you should hit him back?"

We left a little while after that and as we were heading home Spencer kept talking about the mean boy. I told him it's okay to stick up for yourself. Then Spencer said, "But doesn't Jesus teach us to be nice and not hit other people?" That shut me up after I kept telling him he should have hit him back:-)
