a conversation

We had to have a guy from Qwest come today and look at our Internet connection because it was slow while he was here this was the conversation:

Qwest guy: "Sorry that your Internet has been so slow for so long."

Cory: "That's okay except we weren't able to watch some videos my son wanted to watch. Parker what were you wanting to watch on the computer?"

Parker: "Um...uh...well, videos of Corvettes and.....Lamborghini's and......Ferrari's."

Qwest guy: "Oh, okay that sounds cool."

Qwest guy finishes up and leaves our house and Parker turns to Dad and says: "I really didn't want to tell him that I wanted to look at Legos.com."

Already trying to be cool!

napping and shopping

Sometimes Wal-Mart really takes it out of you and taking a nap while resting your head on a box of Cookie Crisp is required.

mataya

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.Author Unknown

Mataya is such a joy and she has started cooing and making cute noises. She is so much fun. She had her 2 month check and she weighed in at 11 lb 13 oz. She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight and 80th for head size. She is almost the exact size that Parker was at this age and it's funny because she looks the most like Parker. I guess she is taking after him so far.

friday night fun

Melissa, Emilee, Heather, and Lindsay.

What cute (and skinny) sisters I have!

Mataya sitting with Daddy being adorable. Emilee and TJ came up for a few days so we got together at Heather's for dinner and some quality fun time.
We had some really nice cool weather, but Mr. St. George wasn't so sure about it:-)
The boys of '04 enjoying all the rock climbing and such.
"Look Mom, Lexi!" Cute girls Spencer taking a break from running around with the boys. After dinner it was off to the front yard for some serious slip n' slide action. A steep slope in the front yard plus a bunch of plastic equals good times. We rounded out the evening with some mint brownies. It doesn't get any better than that!

sun

The second coming? No, just smoke from some fires that made the sun look strange.

daddy...the knight in shining armor

Daddy came home on Tuesday with a "surprise" for the boys. They were waiting in great anticipation while he got the goods out of his car. Spencer got a dragon and a Transformer. He loves the dragon it's just like the one at the Treehouse Museum that he loves to play with. Parker knew what was coming. That is a big smile! Check in the trunk. A new bike! Wow, what a great dad. Parker has had a hand-me-down bike for the last year and a half which he has loved and used a ton. Cory really wanted to get him a nicer one with gears that he could use for a few years and he found this one on ksl.com for a really great price. Parker has not gotten off of it for a week now.

bribery...sometimes it doesn't work

tonight at dinner this was the only thing that stood between Spencer and this:

(rice krispie treat)

As a parent bribery may be one of the greatest tools we've got. Now when your kids don't respond to it.....what do you do? I once got Parker to clean our very messy, cluttered family room for 25 cents! That kid is a saint. Now, with Spencer it's a different story. I once offered him a trip to Disneyland if he would just take a bite of broccoli! He just laughed and walked away. Okay, that didn't really happen, but it probably will tomorrow night at dinner. As it stands right now, if he uses the potty he will get a Transformer scooter and an undisclosed amount of Loopies a.k.a. Fruit Loops.

Here's to hoping my faith in bribery will be restored soon.
