I rocked it!

I rocked it out at the Layton Marathon today. I will post more pics when I upload them. I just love this one because Mataya was ready to join me. Cory and the kids cheered me on the whole way.
There is a guy running and you can see him behind me. He is 80 years old and he ran up next to me and said he thinks it's so amazing that I have 3 kids and I'm running a marathon. Then he said, "the moment a woman has a baby she becomes superior to every man on earth!" Wow! That was a nice thing for him to say to me....it made me smile!

the tree.

Don't be afraid to go out on a limb.....That's where the fruit is.--Anonymous

This little beauty stands in my parents front yard. It's beautiful! I'd kill for a tree like that in my yard. Parker will often say that he wishes we could grow a tree and cut it down and use the wood to build a tree house and then plant another tree to put the tree house in. If only it were that easy:)

in a nutshell.

We've been busy lately and I haven't posted in a while. So here is what's been going on with us. Daddy and Mataya snuggling on the couch.

Cory and I canned salsa using tomatoes from our garden.

Playing at the park.

Eating an awesome breakfast with family on Labor Day.

Frosting the giant cupcake. I like the look Parker is giving Spencer as he licks his frosting knife like he knows what Spenc is doing is totally wrong.

All decorated and ready to eat. I took the boys shopping with me to Bed, Bath and Beyond and they talked me into buying the big cupcake mold.

Yummy!

These boots got dug up from the basement and Mataya has enjoyed wearing them.

Parker lost his first tooth!

He pulled it out right after he went to bed and he came out proudly telling us it came out and he was bleeding pretty bad. But he thought all the blood was pretty cool....typical boy!

We got to go to Marysvale and visit Grandpa and Grandma Blackwell over General Conference weekend while Daddy was hunting. Spencer loves the turtle hanging on the tree.

We had to take a small detour on the way home through Manti and saw the temple. Parker said it looking like a castle. The detour had something to do with Cory, hunting, and a broken jeep:)

Mataya loving the little car.

I ran 8 miles on Saturday and my dad biked with me. Parker was going to go with us, but before the first mile he had a flat tire and he had to head back to be with Grandma. When we got back my mom and the kids had made a "finish line" out of yarn for me to cross. It was awesome! It was good practice for next Saturday.

my life brought to you by my camera phone.

We went to an Eagle Scout court of honor on Saturday and on the way home the kids were engrossed in a movie. The little princess sitting in the middle with cookie on her face sitting in her new car seat.
Parker with an orange smile. We went out to eat on Friday night to Mimi's Cafe and the service was so bad and slow that they gave us our whole meal for free!

I'm hoping someone will see this and immediately nominate me for mother of the year! (fingers crossed)
Last week Cory had to take my vehicle to work to pick something up on the way home so I was left with his car. Me, Mataya, and Spencer needed to run a VERY important errand to Maverick for a 44 oz diet coke. We get out to the car to discover the battery is dead. At first I thought Cory was trying to sabotage me, but the lights got left on (allegedly). And I didn't feel like hooking up the battery charger and waiting so we took off on foot. This is Spencer by a little stream that goes along a walking path. I felt a little bad for dragging my kids to the store because it was cold and windy. I just told them we were going on a little adventure:)
The double eye patch is a nice touch.

my beautiful children.

catapult.

Parker: "Mom can I build a catapult?"

Me: "Sure, why not?"

Parker: "All I need is a flame thrower, a hatchet, and some wood!"

Me: "Hmm."

He then runs to the big craft bin and grabs some plastic straws, pipe cleaners, and colored paper.

Apparently those things work just as well:)

the crown burger goodbye.

My sister and her family recently moved to Texas (boo!) We are sad they live so far away, but were glad we got together one last time to see them and eat at Crown Burger.
