big girl.

Cute little Mataya after her bath. She is such a delightful little girl. Yesterday the boys were playing in their room and she crawled in there as fast as she could before they could shut the door. Then I heard, "Mom, Mataya is throwing our toys," and "Can you please get her out of here?" Oh, this is only the beginning! Parker came in and said, "Mom, Mataya kept throwing toys at me and one hit me in the face. This is the first time I've ever been mad at her." I guess there is a first time for everything:)

Now that she is mobile nothing is off limits. She is so fun and such a happy baby. She can sign milk, more, and all done. She loves to say "Pepper" (our dog's name). And she loves to go "bye-bye" and "ni-night". She started blowing kisses and loves to wave. She also loves to yell loudly...especially in Relief Society....hmm why is that?!

french fry.

This is Mataya having her very first French fry. It was a proud mommy moment! She was giggling while she was eating it, this girl doesn't turn down anything when it comes to food.

easter.

So I guess I will take a break from blogging about myself and post some pics of the kids and whatnot. We went to my parents for Easter/conference weekend. My parents work in the St. George temple on Friday night and Saturday morning. But with it being conference the temple was closed on Saturday so we jumped on the chance to spend time with them.
The two cute girls having milk before bed. I love how Mataya has a death grip on 2 Jenga blocks. From left to right: Parker, Lexi, Mataya, Spencer. The Easter bunny rocks! The boys loved their umbrellas. Spencer is shooting a web out of his hand like Spider man. Cute little girl, on the little steps, with little pigtails!

mexico.

More Mexico pics. If you are sick of hearing about my vaca then I'm sorry...(but not really:)

We ate dinner here. It was very fancy and delicious. I like this picture except that plant is attacking Cory's face.

I guess they don't believe is cleaning off old candle wax drippings.

I love Parker

It's been a whole week since I posted anything. (that's a long time for me:)

I had a doctor's appointment today. I've had a sore throat for weeks and feeling a little phlem-ey, sorry gross! I went running this morning and couldn't breathe very good so I decided it was time to see what was wrong with me. So I do have some upper respiratory sinus problems.

I'm at the appointment and the nurse is asking me some questions and then she left.

Parker said, "Mom why didn't you tell her you went on vacation?"

Me: "What do you mean?"

P: "Well she asked if your on any vacations."

Me: "Oh, she asked if I'm on any medications!"

Thanks for the laugh, Parker!

Then, we went to the store to get my prescription filled and as we were sitting there waiting we had another conversation.

P: "Hey, Mom see that guy over there? I think he goes to our church."

Me: "Yeah bud that's our stake president."

That one cracked me up. We talked to him and I told him what Parker said and he told Parker, "I go to church every week."

the market.

We braved public transportation in Cancun and made our way to Market 28. We had 6 other people from our group come with us. After we were done shopping we had a spot to meet at and as we were waiting this lovely women came up to us. She was selling bracelets and belts. We bought a couple of things from her and realized she had a 2 year old attached to her back and she was so short. Wow! Talk about hard work.

This was a purchase we made at the market. Cory put it on and we took a few pictures. Here he is looking through the window in the shower. The point of having the window in the shower is so you can see the ocean while showering....or have your hubby peek in on you while YOU are showering. Either way someone is getting an eye full...lol!
Cory and the boys love to have wrestle mania. The boys loved their capes and lets be honest Cory really loves his mask:)

chicken pizza?

I meant to say Chitzen Itza. That was our destination. It's a hard name to remember so our tour guide told us the chicken pizza thing to help us remember. Which was nice for Cory:) We made a stop on the way there at a little strip mall of sorts. It had some stores and a place to get snacks. As you can see we got Doritos and a Milky Way. I'm just going to put this out there, the Doritos were spicy and delicious and the Milky Way was smashed. It looked as though it had been previously melted and sat on by a small child. I recommend buying vanilla in Mexico, but not chocolate candy bars. Oh, I did buy some peanut M&M's which are also safe to buy because of the thin candy shell that protects it from everything except a nuclear attack. We arrived via tour bus, which if I might add it was worth the extra $20 per person that we paid to have drinks and snacks served to us while on the 2 plus hour bus ride here. And we even got to watch an episode of Mr. Bean on the way home.....BONUS!

So here we are being herded like livestock to this ancient landmark. For a second I really felt at home like I was making my way into Coscto on a Saturday what with the large crowds and overwhelming smell of cheese. After and hour and a half of hearing from the tour guide we got to explore on our own for an hour. As of 3 years ago, they don't allow anyone up the steps because the lime stone is crumbling and it's sort of dangerous with the steps being so narrow.....bummer.
We stopped at this awesome "swimming hole" on the way back. I can't remember the name of it, but it was 95 steps down to get to. The water is 150 feet deep. There were tons of little catfish swimming with us, which was a little creepy. The water temp. was around 75 degrees which was perfect after walking around in the humid, hot weather. And in our case running at some point back to the bus. We tried to see too much in our hour of free time and that almost made us late getting back. Or I guess you could say we screwed around too much taking pictures like this. Cory secretly wishes he lived here. So I braved the jump. I'm not sure how high it was 20-25 feet maybe. It was high enough to scare me and upon impact my top came partially off...good times.

someplace warm

Almost to sunny Mexico. We got spray tans...don't we look hot? We decided it would be better to start out a little tan rather than have a Edward Cullen pastey white look. We arrived at our hotel and it was incredible.
We got to come on this awesome vacation thanks to the owner of Ascend (who Cory works for). Several months back they set a sales goal/incentive and if it was reached then we got to come on this trip. Cory worked really hard and he won't brag about himself, so I have to do it for him;) He is their #1 sales rep. and has worked hard and had some great success. There were 14 other people that came. It was a fun group of people. We didn't waste any time we got suited up and headed for the beach. Look at my tan/hot husband! There was a whole lotta this happening. And we only had one accidental alcohol consumption the whole week so I'd say that is par for the course in Mexico. Looking down the beach at the long line of hotels. The view from our room.

life changes in one week

One week I look outside and I see white sandy beaches and hear the waves of the ocean crashing on the shore.
The next week, I'm sending Parker out the door to the school bus and this is what I see:

Walking along the streets of Cancun we come up to a woman making bracelets with her beautiful 7 month old daughter clinging to her back. And before I know it I'm back home looking into the faces of these two gorgeous girls. This is Mataya and her cousin Lexi.I went from drinking a diet coke poolside to...
drinking a diet coke while sitting on the couch.
Okay, the beverage didn't change, but I did have to get up and get the drink myself:)

Here is my little Spencer all ready for church. He got this cool little back pack for his birthday so that's what he takes to church now. And the 65 cent, 80's inspired glasses on his head really round out his look.
We made it back from glorious Cancun. It was awesome! We bought a new camera for the trip so once I figure out how to transfer the pics to our desktop you better believe I will be posting away! So until then enjoy Spencer's cute little face.
