Red Hair?!

Hi, my name is Lindsay and I'm addicted to jalapenos.

*Hi, Lindsay*

Yes, I made these for the Superbowl. They are bacon wrapped jalapenos with a delicious cheesy filling. We enjoyed them tremendously. I think Cory is okay with my new found spicy food obsession because he loves it too.

Last week I texted my mom to tell her I found something new and exciting.....jalapeno ranch dressing! Her reply went something like this "Oh, no! Your baby girl is going to be born with bright red hair!"

This got me thinking......red hair works on some people.
This is not one of those people!

Red hair can be charming and lovable for example:

or

Adorable!

And red hair can be funny in an obnoxious kind of way: So stay tuned America and we will be waiting on pins and needles to see what those little locks have in store for us. Honestly, I'm just glad when my babies are born with any hair at all.

30 Weeks!

Here is a 30 week belly shot! Well, I've made it this far and it feels pretty good. It has been a great pregnancy, I've been very fortunate for that. I've craved spicy foods like crazy, but I haven't been sick. Rolling over in bed feels like it should be a Olympic event...it takes skill, effort, and dedication:-) Parker tells me often that my belly is getting so fat. He even wrote a story about it yesterday and here is it:

"The Tummy is so Huge" by: Parker
Lindsay's big momma tummy everybody thinks it's a ball at church. Spencer said it's a ball and he punches it. I, Parker, punched it playing Transformers. Daddy punched it. Mommy punches it.
The End

Editors note: This story is entirely fictional. There has been no punching of the huge belly nor has there been any attempts either. Otherwise these boys would be headed right for a smack bottom.

It's Official!

Melissa and Ryan finalized their adoption on Monday! This was a long awaited day. Two weeks ago they had no idea it would all happen so quickly. You can see the smiles on all of our faces that we are so happy that this day came. They have been through so much in the last 6 months. They will be sealed in the Bountiful Temple in a couple of weeks. Parker, Spencer, and I got to be here which we are so grateful for. I'm glad that we live so close:)
We love you Lexi girl!

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Parker had a fun day at school on Monday, he learned all about St. Patrick's Day and why we celebrate it. "Happy St. Patrick's Day little lads! To find your pot of gold you must do what you're told!"
Cory drew the leprechaun...pretty impressive. I made the shamrocks which he made fun of and I told them that if our kids don't already know that I'm not artistic they will soon find out. I like to do fun things, it just might not look too pretty.
The boys woke up the morning of St. Patrick's Day to find that a little leprechaun had left little shamrock clues all over the house. It was a treasure hunt they had to find their "pot of gold". As you can see from the picture that they were eating what was in the pot of gold and they couldn't stop chewing long enough for me to take a picture. Parker loved the treasure hunt, finding the clues and running all over the house and outside, Spencer just really loved the candy.

We had green pancakes for breakfast. Not very creative, but Spencer loves pancakes!

Later that day Parker had soccer practice. He started practices last week and so far he really loves it. He wanted to wear his new soccer shoes to school, but I told him it wasn't happening.

Spencer played on the park next to the soccer field while Parker had practice. I don't know where Parker got this from, but I didn't wear any green (mostly because I don't have a big green maternity shirt) and he kept pinching me in the armpit! I thought a good old pinch on the arm or something would do, but no he kept going right for the armpit.

Spencer's Dino Day!

Spencer decided we should go to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden to celebrate his birthday as a family. It really is surprising that he would pick this place.....NOT! We decided to get a year membership so we can go as many times as we would like. I have a feeling we will be here a lot this summer:-)
This was a new little addition to the museum. I can't remember what it's called, but Spencer referred to it as the scary, hairy rhino and walked as far around it as he could. We thought this looked like a nice spot to take a picture perhaps put Parker up on top and pretend like he is riding it, but wait.....
Ahh....I was really disappointed when I read this sign.
You can tell by the look on my face that I'm really puzzled as to why they wouldn't want people putting their kids on this hairy rhino.
At first Spencer was really enjoying the experience, but he was a little sick that day and so we had to cut the visit short.
T-Rex
The snake is about to get Parker. It was a very cold day!
Triceratops.....Spencer's favorite!
The dinosaur pose. He had to think about how he would pose and this is what he came up with.

A birthday package

A birthday package from the UPS guy. We love it when he stops by around birthday time.A present from Grandma and Grandpa Jones. Spencer (and Parker) loved it.

Kangaroo Zoo Party

We decided to do a combined party for the boys this year at Kangaroo Zoo in North Salt Lake. What a fun place we invited cousins and some friends and the kids had a blast. I think we had 13 kids there and the parents. We did the whole thing, bounce golf, the party room, and we even got a personal visit from the kangaroo himself which totally freaked Spencer out and you will see the pics later in this post.
Happy Birthday....yeah right! So this picture was taken moments before we left for the boys birthday party. Spencer was tired and royally ticked off at me for trying to do his hair. I stood him up to the sink in the bathroom and he jerked away from me and bumped his chin on the counter drawing some blood. We were all a little hyped up for this one so we just had to get out the door and then everyone was fine and happy.
Ahh, that's better. That's the Spencer we know and love. The cute less angry one.
The kids climbing up to go down the big slides. Being pregnant and all I exceeded the weight limit by a few pounds thanks to the 25 pounds I've gained so far. So I couldn't join in on all the fun....ahh man! Not that I would go on them, but I would like to have had the option.
Luke, Melissa, and Beau.......wait for it.....
It's looks like we have a winner. Luke was a little hesitant at first, but I think he warmed up pretty quick. We were so glad to have Marley there, she is 4 months older than Spencer. Spencer was a little nervous to do the climbing and sliding, but once she got there he followed her everywhere and he was going down huge slides. It was so great. She was the fearless leader.
Allison, Madison, Morgan, and I think that's Spencer in the background. I had a hard time taking pictures of the kids because they were moving around so fast I would snap a picture and it would be a blur. Lexi's first birthday party. She is pulling that face because she was a little bummed that she didn't get to join in the bouncy fun.
Happy Birthday boys! Parker and Oakley waiting for cake.
This picture is crooked, but I love the red frosting lips. He wanted a huge piece of cake with the red balloon frosting and that's all he ate. He wouldn't even eat the pizza we had he was holding out for frosting. He's got some Blackwell in him for sure! Our host came up to me while we were eating and asked if she should bring the Kangaroo in. She was worried that some of the kids would be scared of him, but I told her it would be fine and I knew Spencer would be that kid that was scared.
This is him clinging to my leg. All the other kids ran up and gave the kangaroo a hug, but Spencer is a little more leary of such characters.
Gathered around for the present opening. It was a very fun time and I'm glad we were able to do it for them. We had a host that helped us throughout the day and she took the presents to our room and got us water and cups, and a knife to cut our cake and she was very helpful the whole time. We were leaving our room and we loaded our cart up with the gifts and leftover cake and she put it in the office until we were ready to go. So Cory and my dad head into the office like 5 minutes later to get our stuff and our host is eating a piece of our cake! Her face turned bright red and she had a mouthful, they were laughing so hard, but we didn't care she helped us out a lot and it's not like we would notice some missing cake.

Life boils down to 2 questions:

Should I get a dog....?

OR

Should I have children...?

I hate it when this happens

I debated on whether or not to post this so viewer discretion is advised.

It all started out on a pleasant February day. I decided I would let the nice people at McDonald's make lunch for us. Spencer and I picked Parker up from school at 11:45 and headed over to the place that brings a smile to every kid's face. This particular McDonald's is very close to our house and has only been there for a few months so the play land doesn't quite have that fermented sweaty foot smell that is normally accompanied by this experience. And since Spencer lives on yogurt, chocolate milk, and top ramen (sound familiar college students?) it's nice to come here because he loves their chicken nuggets.

We order our food and find a booth in the play area and get ready to eat. In walks two women and their kids and they sit near us I didn't think much of it until I looked up to see this:

Ummm, I spy with my little eye a black thong with pink polka dots.

Now I just came here to eat lunch with my kids and let them play and have a good time, but what I didn't know is that I would witness a wardrobe malfunction. Now there were many a kid that ran by and one would think feeling a slight breeze in an unexpected area would trigger you to pull down your shirt, but it didn't happen. I am in now way passing judgement on the types of undergarments that people choose to wear. Wear what you please, go commando if you want! I just really don't want to see them!

I betting that every person that reads this has had an experience similar to this where you go out in public and get a little more that you bargained for and catch a glimpse of something Victoria really meant to be kept Secret.

HOGLE ZOO

Melissa and cute little Lexi. This was Lexi's first time to the zoo so it was kind of a big deal. I think she had fun.....and by fun I mean she really loved being outside!
We got to go to the zoo. We went on the last free day of the season so it was a little busy, but not too bad. Emilee came up with the boys so we had to keep them busy and do fun stuff while she was here.
This was the first thing they ran in and saw. I think it was a bunch of turkeys.
I think Spencer was secretly hoping they would have a big cage with a dinosaur in it.
This little monkey checking out this little monkey:
The elephants...a must see! We had fun, but my boys were so ornery. Spencer just wanted to see a rhino and all Parker cared about were spider and snakes.
"Um, what are we looking at?"
Checking out the zebra's or "Marty" if you will. Luke joined in on the action and got up close to see them. I was very happy on this day because Spencer wore real shoes not his little crocks he likes to wear, but actual shoes it was great.
We tried to get them all to sit on the rock wall and get a picture. Luke was ready and posing, but Beau wasn't feelin' it.
This is proof that I was actually there that day. I'm not in a lot of pictures because I'm the one taking them. It was such a nice day there. It was cloudy and not very cold so we were glad, it actually started raining right as we were leaving so we timed it perfect. What's more fun that riding a big, metal rhino?
They couldn't wait for the train to come. We were told to stand on a certain spot, but the boys were practically falling onto the tracks.
Finally made it on the train, and not a moment too soon.
Introducing....my chins! Parker is such a little goofball he always makes weird faces in every picture.

We had a very fun afternoon. Mel and Lexi hung out by our strollers while we rode the train which rivals the excitement of riding Frontrunner by the way.
